Charcot Shower at Kuialnyk Sanatorium

The Charcot shower is a unique hydrotherapy procedure widely used at the Kuialnyk Sanatorium. It has two variations: the Charcot stream shower and the Charcot spray shower.

Charcot Stream Shower
During the Charcot stream shower, the patient's body is exposed to a strong narrow stream of water under high pressure. The intense water jet has a deep massaging effect, influencing the muscles, joints and reflex zones. This mechanical and thermal impact leads to enhanced blood circulation, lymph drainage and metabolism in the treated area. The procedure has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic effect.

Charcot Spray Shower
In the Charcot spray shower, water is delivered in the form of multiple fine jets that evenly bathe the entire body surface. This technique allows for an impact on the body as a whole, rather than just specific areas. The Charcot spray shower has a predominantly calming effect, improves peripheral blood circulation, reduces blood pressure, decreases muscle tension and normalizes sleep.
